Update for Friday
Dear Paden Parents,
Tomorrow, Friday, January 30th, was originally scheduled as a virtual day on the school calendar. Earlier this week, when we thought we could return to school mid-week, we had planned on possibly changing tomorrow back to in-person once students were back in class.
At this time, we have decided to let tomorrow remain as the regularly scheduled virtual day as shown on the school calendar, with staff reporting in person for in-service and a work day.
The reason for this decision is that we still have roads on our bus routes that have not fully melted and remain snow-packed. These are the lesser-traveled roads, but our buses must still travel them to pick up students. Mr. Scoggins and I checked routes this afternoon and both had to use 4WD in several snow-packed areas.
Earlsboro has confirmed they will be here tomorrow evening for the ballgames, and Homecoming will go on as scheduled since it was rescheduled for tomorrow night. The parking lot is relatively clear since it was cleaned earlier in the week, and with today’s melting it should be in good shape for games. There may be a few slick spots with refreezing, but we will have the main walks and entries salted and ready for the crowd.
We do plan on being back on track Monday morning and back in school as normal.
Staff will report at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow to allow time to travel safely in case of refreezing in neighborhoods. If parents or students need anything tomorrow, please feel free to call the offices. We will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The JV game will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Homecoming to follow around 6:00 p.m., and the varsity high school games to start at 6:30 p.m., with the boys playing first.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the games.
